PILOT SOLAR PROJECT
Nickelsville is a self-managed community of people experiencing homelessness in Seattle. Nickelsville approached Traction to support their goals to increase self-sufficiency, reduce their carbon footprint, and produce alternative methods of energy capture in their tiny home communities. As part of a US EPA Environmental Justice Small Grant, and with support from a local solar company and Traction, Nickelsville monitored their energy use and installed a pilot solar project in their Northlake Village. Traction is currently working with Nickelsville to obtain permitting on a potential site for a new Tiny Home Village, and on designing an ecovillage sustainable community.
