COMMUNITY HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Through a partnership between Traction, the University of Washington Global2Local Nursing Scholars, the Penn State Hamer Center for Community Design, and the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonia Peruana, yearly community health and environmental education programs have been implemented in Claverito. Programs include an Environmental Education Fair, a Public Health and Hygiene Fair, a Plant Maintenance and Cultivation Workshop, and a Children and the Environment Fair. These programs provide hands-on learning catered to both children and adults of all education levels, and display the results of the InterACTION Labs studies so residents can learn about the impact the built environment interventions have had on their health.
