POCKET PARK
The 2017 UW exploration seminar brought seven undergraduate students to Eliseo Collazos. David, Brian and Coco facilitated participatory workshops with the community and students, where the project goal was set: Create increased access to safe play-space for the younger children of the settlement.
In just 6 weeks, a triangular plot of land was transformed into a small, protected play space with seating, planters and slides and a musical wall for the children to play on. The pocket park seemingly materialized overnight, highlighting the power of teamwork, design expertise, and reliable neighborhood craftsman.
